Genesis Walkthrough #5: Checking in on a running mission

Once a mission has been started and any required inputs have been provided, Genesis continues executing each phase automatically. Throughout this process, engineers can monitor progress, review generated documentation, and inspect intermediate outputs without interrupting the workflow.

Interacting with the Mission in Real Time

As the mission runs, Genesis builds a threaded record of every action taken by the worker. Engineers can open the document flow at any time to review the files, structured documents, and artifacts that have been generated so far. These materials may include parsed versions of provided files, column definitions, extracted business questions, or other elements that form the context for downstream tasks.

Genesis presents these artifacts in an organized window where each item can be expanded and examined in detail. This gives engineers visibility into the agent’s reasoning and the state of the mission as it progresses.

Tracking Phases and Work Logs

Every Blueprint is divided into phases, and Genesis marks each phase as it completes. The work log shows the full progression, including the phase currently running and the checklist of tasks associated with it. Engineers can scroll through the thread to view past steps or enable “Follow” mode to stay anchored to the latest activity.

This real-time visibility ensures that the mission remains transparent and auditable, even when multiple steps are executed sequentially without human intervention.

Using the Replay Feature

Genesis includes a replay capability that allows engineers to revisit any point in the mission’s history. Even while the mission is still running, the replay timeline can be used to jump back and view exactly what occurred at a specific moment. This helps with debugging, validation, and compliance, offering a full reconstruction of the workflow from start to finish.

Why This Matters

  • Full transparency into every step of a running mission

  • Detailed access to documents, logs, and generated artifacts

  • Phase-by-phase visibility and progress tracking

  • Ability to review past activity without interrupting execution

  • Easier debugging and auditing through a comprehensive replay timeline

Genesis gives engineers the tools to supervise and understand agent-driven work without needing to manually manage or coordinate each step. Missions continue autonomously, while visibility and control remain in the hands of the team.
